Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
In keeping with my recent trend of books about books, today's teaser comes from Read This Next: 500 of the Best Books You'll Ever Read.

From the introduction to the section about books on politics:

"It is now generally accepted that politics are a bad idea - the fruit of a disgusting organ (the 'brain') that only the most perverted dregs of humanity will eat, even fried. Ever since politics were invented by Thomas Jefferson, people have engaged in political behavior, eving going to war for politics in the full flush of youth, looking fantastic. Others, though, have seen through the sham and have campaigned publicly to convince others to join them in stamping politics out, by force if necessary." Have a wonderful reading week!

  9. Thanks everyone for sharing your teasers and for stopping by!

On a side note, I'm certain that politics have been around longer than Thomas Jefferson. The authors of this book are a little facetious - and a little bit silly - but really fun.

This is not a novel. It's like a long list of books to read. I'll post a review and explanation soon, so check back!

  11. I am always wary of lists of books to read mainly because a list of must read books is very subjective.

Here is my teaser for this week.
